Urim Academy
Welcome to Urim Academy, where faith and learning unite to develop students who are academically excellent, spiritually grounded, and prepared to serve their communities and God.
At Urim, we believe education is more than imparting knowledge it is the formation of character, the nurturing of faith, and the preparation of young men and women for a life of purpose and service.
"The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom."
— Proverbs 9:10Every aspect of our school is built upon these core convictions that shape how we teach, disciple, and inspire.
A complete Christian educational journey from early childhood through matric.
Urim Academy is a STEM-focused Christian school. Our curriculum integrates Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics at every level rooted in the belief that understanding God's creation deepens both faith and knowledge.
High school students may pursue the internationally recognised GED or IGCSE qualification pathway, opening doors for tertiary education and STEM careers around the world.
We do not merely educate minds; we nurture hearts and characters for God's service.
Each day begins with prayer and scripture
Gathering together in worship and fellowship
Honouring God's holy day as a school community
Serving our neighbours with Christ's love
"Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it."
— Proverbs 22:6At Urim Academy, every programme, every class, and every relationship is intentionally shaped to point students toward God and a life of faithful service.
"Urim Academy has strengthened me both spiritually and academically. It has paved the way for my journey to college, equipping me with the skills and confidence I need. More than a school, I have found a caring and supportive family here."
"At Urim Academy, my children have grown into confident, responsible socially grounded individuals. The school provides a true haven, instilling sound character, strong values and a healthy balance between academics and personal growth."
"Urim Academy has been a blessing in educating our son . It. complements the home education to strive to please God, and to be an honor to Him."
A Christ-centred school dedicated to developing the whole child spiritually, academically, and socially.
Urim Academy was founded by members of the Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) Church with a singular conviction: that the best education is one that develops the whole person in the light of God's Word. Located in South Africa, we are a proudly SDA Christian school committed to producing graduates who are spiritually anchored, intellectually equipped, and ready to serve.
As a STEM-focused academy, we believe that science, technology, engineering, and mathematics are not in conflict with faith, they are expressions of it. Every equation solved, every experiment conducted, and every innovation imagined is an opportunity to marvel at the intelligence of our Creator.
Our name, Urim, draws from the biblical objects of divine light and truth carried by the priests of Israel. It represents our calling to be a place where truth is revealed, where young hearts are illuminated, and where the light of God's Word guides everything we do.
To provide comprehensive education to young people residing in South Africa, at primary and secondary levels accordingly, based on the principles of the Bible and Spirit of Prophecy.
To reveal to our student that Jesus is all to one's life. He can be a friend and Lord who is worthy of our worship and thus they can share Him with the world.
Urim Academy was established by Seventh-day Adventist members who believed that a school could be both academically rigorous and deeply faithful. That vision has never changed.
As a STEM school, we equip students to engage confidently with science, technology, engineering, and mathematics — not as an alternative to faith, but as a celebration of the God who designed the universe and its laws.
Exploring God's creation through inquiry and discovery
Digital literacy and computer skills for a modern world
Problem-solving, design thinking, and practical application
Rigorous maths preparation from Foundation to FET

"True education does not ignore the value of scientific knowledge or literary acquirements; but above information it values power; above intellectual acquirements character. The world does not so much need men of great intellect as of noble character."
- Ellen G. White
The Foundation Phase (Grade R–3) is where lifelong love of learning begins. We lay early STEM foundations alongside literacy and numeracy introducing curiosity, inquiry, and wonder in a nurturing, faith-filled environment.
Small class sizes ensure every child receives individual attention and is known by name and story.
Grades 4–7 deepen STEM engagement, introducing formal Natural Sciences, Technology, and problem-solving skills alongside a full complement of humanities subjects.
Students are encouraged to explore, question, and discover always within the framework of Christian values and a biblical worldview that sees science as the study of God's handiwork.
Grades 8–9 prepare students for the demands of the FET phase. Academic expectations increase while pastoral and spiritual support remains central.
Students begin to explore subject specialisation while continuing to be formed as young Christian leaders.
Grades 10–12 offer two internationally recognised qualification pathways: the GED (General Educational Development) or the IGCSE (Cambridge International).
Both pathways open doors to tertiary institutions locally and internationally. Our teachers guide each student in choosing the route that best serves their calling and goals.
Faith is not an add-on at Urim Academy — it is the very heartbeat of everything we do.
We do not merely educate minds; we nurture hearts and characters for God's service.
Every school day begins with scripture reading, prayer, and a brief devotional message. This sets the tone for learning in God's presence.
Our whole school gathers every evening for worship, singing, and hearing God's Word together as one community as we close off the day in thanks giving.
As a Seventh-day Adventist school, we honour the Sabbath. Friday afternoon includes a closing devotional to welcome the Sabbath rest.
Bible is taught as a core subject across all grades — not only as scripture memory but as a living guide for life and decision-making.
Students participate in regular community service projects, putting their faith into action and learning the joy of servant leadership.
Through student leadership structures, mentorship, and discipleship, we raise young people who lead with humility and conviction.
Every teacher, every lesson, every interaction is a discipleship opportunity. We take that seriously and joyfully.
